Theraflex Case Histories

theraflex-tall-700pxThese are just a few examples of the thousands who have been positively impacted by   Reflex Therapy.  It provides remarkable, lasting relief from mechanical problems of the spine, enhanced athletic performance and increased mobility.  It has also been found to relieve many cases of Restless Leg Syndrome, a very promising by-product of treatment.

If there is nothing wrong with the spine, the Theraflex System simply provides a mobilizing ‘super massage’ and does no harm. It goes ‘beyond the symptoms, to the source’. There followed by periodic treatments to maintain the integrity and suppleness of the spine.

Brief Case Histories of Reflex Therapy Patients from the U.K. and the United States:

  • An elderly couple were due to be put into ‘care’ owing to mobility problems. The wife found it necessary to depend upon a ‘walker’ and the husband could no longer help her to her feet.  After they received treatment, he was able to assist her and she was able to walk unaided again.  This enabled them to remain in their home and retain their autonomy.
  • A 57-year-old man with a prosthetic limb had developed ‘stability’ problems and suffered back pain.  He received a course of treatment and some exercise therapy and regained his stability completely with no noticeable abnormal gait.  His back pain was also completely relieved.  He has maintained this for over a decade with periodic treatment.
  • A mid-50’s brick mason was no longer able to perform his craft.  He was taking methadone thrice daily for pain and had very limited range of motion.  Two orthopedic doctors had recommended lumbar fusions and a third had advised him to ‘live with it’.  Upon completion of the first session of Reflex Therapy, he claimed to have no pain and was moving freely.  He was able to discontinue pain medications and by the time he had completed his course of treatment he could play baseball and golf unhindered.
  • A 62-year-old nurse had developed foot atrophy years after an auto accident had injured her hip nearly 20 years earlier and was unable to perform exercises designed to help her condition.  After her first session, many of her symptoms disappeared and she could do the exercises previously impossible to her.  She finished her course of Reflex Therapy and occasionally has treatment after heavy yard or house work.
  • A gentleman in his late sixties was in constant agonizing groin pain.  He was on a waiting list for surgery by the National Health Service.  Family members who had received effective Reflex Therapy brought him to the clinic.  After one session, the pain was gone and when he arrived the following week for his second, he looked rested and well.  He and his family were elated at his dramatic recovery.  He had 3 sessions and some exercise instruction without further incidence of pain.  A few months later, when the NHS called to tell him his surgery was scheduled, it was cancelled as no longer needed.
  • A woman in her 40’s had fallen from a horse. After being treated by a few consulting physicians, she was bent forward, using a cane and told she could look forward to little or no improvement.  After a course of Reflex Therapy, she first had to lengthen her ‘stick’ as she was enabled to walk more uprightly and by the time she was finished, she had no impairment, no walking stick and was eventually able to ride horses again.
  • A 52-year-old woman with severe scoliosis was scheduled for surgery.  Her prognosis was ‘six months in a cast and a year of physiotherapy with no guarantee she would be free from pain.  She decided to try Reflex Therapy and achieved a 20 degree correction. (Her curvature had reached 55 degrees).  Her specialist cancelled the surgery because her back was no longer curved enough to qualify.  She receives treatment once monthly to maintain her spine and leads a normal life, working full-time.
  • A 52-year-old lorry (truck) driver was pensioned off because of constant lumbar pain.  After a few treatments he was happy to return to his job.  He also receives periodic sessions to remain pain-free.
  • A woman in her 50’s had cervical spine problems causing constant pain for 16 years.  After 4 treatments she was pain-free with complete range of motion, none of which had been achieved with any conventional treatment.  She has had two follow-up sessions in two years to maintain.
  • A man in his early forties had suffered 23 years with lumbar vertebrae injuries from playing football in high school and college.  He had two epidurals that did not relieve the pain or the problems.  After three treatments, his mobility was completely restored and the pain gone.  He is an active person and has periodic sessions to stay in good condition.
  • A 42-year-old volunteer firefighter had a cervical fusion with instrumentation.  After surgery, his neck pain increased dramatically, even following physical therapy.  When he asked his neurologist about it, he was told he should get yet another fusion, which he declined. He heard about Reflex Therapy from a friend in another state and requested treatment.  After his first session, his range of motion was increased and the pain decreased. Two more sessions enabled him to resume playing baseball and working without restriction of motion.
  • A fifty-two year old man with ankylosing spondylitis has been receiving treatments approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.  It has kept him flexible and has relieved pain with no worsening of his condition in the 4 years he has been treated.  It relieves stiffness and headaches.  Reflex Therapy cannot cure this disease but it helps sufferers to cope and relieves symptoms.
  • A university student couldn’t stand up or sit down for more than five minutes at a time without great discomfort.  After being treated with the Theraflex she recovered completely and is now on the canoeing team and competes for England.
  • An Englishman in his late 50’s with COPD was told he had no more than 6 months to live.  He came to the clinic and was completely out of breath from walking one block.  He had Reflex Therapy treatment followed by breathing exercises and was soon able to resume playing golf and some travel. He continued to have periodic treatment until his death 7 years later.  Reflex Therapy does not cure COPD, but he was in no doubt that Reflex Therapy lengthened his life and also enabled him to enjoy it longer.
  • Many teenagers who were developing scoliosis have been greatly helped with Reflex Therapy.  Applied in a timely fashion, it can correct some or all of the curvature and maintain it, often making invasive surgeries unnecessary.
  • Countless women experience lumbar pain following pregnancy.  It has been found that a few post-pregnancy sessions of Reflex Therapy relieve the problem and thus, the pain.

It is recommended that high school and college athletes receive at least one treatment at the close of each season, whether or not the subjects believe they have suffered any damage.  Years of experience have shown that a good number of men in their 30s who seek treatment, state that their back problems began with school sports.  Better to safely prevent a possible lifetime of mechanical problems and the resultant pain and complications.

There are few adults who could not benefit from Reflex Therapy.  It is estimated that 80 percent of American adults suffer from low back pain at some time during their lifetime.  Reflex Therapy treats not only mechanical problems of the lumbar spine, but the thoracic and cervical spine as well.  Most can be relieved completely or in part with Reflex Therapy and without endless multiple visits.  This tremendous step forward in treatment is helping thousands get a new lease on life!
